Huge rush in ALDI’s sale – stores open earlier on Sundays
ALDI Hungary’s one-week clothing sale exceeded all expectations: on the first day, customers purchased nearly 290,000 products. Due to the extraordinary interest, stores will open an hour earlier on Sundays, at 7 a.m., starting on September 14.
ALDI’s nationwide sale started on September 11, offering nearly 700 different clothing and footwear products for a uniform price of 1,000 forints. On the first day of the campaign, customers took home about 290,000 items, while more than half of the stock – about 400,000 items – remained available in stores.
The discounts increased further in the following days: from September 12, the affected products will be available for 800 forints, while on the closing day of the sale, September 17, each item will be available for just 5 forints. The first day’s turnover showed a double-digit increase compared to an average Thursday, which is a good indication of the extraordinary success of the campaign.
Earlier opening hours on Sundays
In response to customer feedback, ALDI will open its doors at 7 am on Sundays in all its Hungarian stores from September 14. The decision was justified by the fact that many people want to do their shopping as early as possible before weekend programs or working on Sundays.
The discount chain emphasized that the earlier opening does not affect the quality of the product range. Fresh vegetables, fruit and meat will also arrive on Sunday morning from the central warehouse in Biatorbágy, and the first baking of the display bakeries will also be ready for opening. The stores will be open until 7 pm in the evening.
