There could be a huge shortage of chips and mirelite potatoes, Lidl and Spar have also spoken
Many people’s favorites are potato chips or frozen French fries, but it seems that there are problems in the supply chain, and from time to time consumers have to face serious product shortages. In particular, there is a shortage in the recently preferred private label products.

Chains prefer to be optimistic
“Lidl constantly monitors weight loss and does everything to ensure that the supply of goods is continuously ensured. The chips are part of international procurement, in which case there may be supply problems from time to time. In this product category, the company offers various substitute products, other chips, and plant-based chips also offers its customers”
– the company communicated to the Pénzcentrum.
“At ALDI, the potato chip products are currently available, there are no interruptions in delivery, however, it may rarely happen that the products are not available at one or two stores for a day or two due to possibly higher demand, but there is currently no permanent product shortage”
– in ALDI’s claim, consumers reported frequent shortages, according to the Pénzcentrum.
“At the moment, customers do not have to face a shortage of goods either in terms of chips or deep-frozen fries”
– responded ALDI, although according to industry sources, there are indeed serious problems in global supply chains, and although for the time being there is really no need to fear a systemic shortage of goods.
