EU’s “Warehouse Operation” caught a huge smuggled cargo
More than 230 thousand cartons of cigarettes, about 140 thousand liters of diesel and approximately 14 thousand liters of vodka were seized by the authorities of the European Union and Member States in an October action, called Warehouse Operation – the European Commission announced on Tuesday.
Acording to the Brussels-based Commission, the smugglers, could have caused a total of around 9 million euros (approximately 2.7 billion HUF) customs duty and tax losses if the cargo would be marketed. (Konsiczky Zoltán, MTI)
