OPTEN: focus is again on liquidations
Technical stagnation in September, expected decrease in the number of companies in October. Moderate willingness to start a company, the number of new companies below the seasonal level. Again, the number of new liquidations is over 2,000, this year it may exceed 20,000. The number of postponed cases due to the epidemic is decreasing, the current economic situation will be the main cause of liquidation procedures. The number of individual businesses is increasing.
Based on OPTEN’s data, the company trend was characterized by technical stagnation in September, but a larger movement is already visible in October, which brings with it a decrease in the number of companies. The relationship between company foundings in the examined month and closures in the preceding month determines the development of the number of companies. The company foundings in September slightly exceeded the closings in August, so a technically negligible increase in the number of companies can be seen, which rather means stagnation.
“This year, there was no month where company creation approached 3,000 at all, and I don’t think it will approach in October – there was only one month where it exceeded 2,500 (March) – and since the terminations remained small in September just away from 3,000, I find it difficult to question the decrease in the number of companies for October”
– said Csaba Alföldi, OPTEN Kft.’s company information expert.
