Opten: The number of companies in Hungary continues to decrease
In 2023, the number of companies in Hungary has decreased every month so far, approaching the drop of 10,000 compared to last year. Although the desire to start companies increased after the epidemic, this was not enough to offset the decrease in the number of companies. The number of new liquidation procedures set a record, especially among companies 3-5 years old.
In 2023, there was no month in which the number of companies in Hungary increased. Together with the June data, the decrease in the number of companies is already close to 10,000 compared to last December. The number in June is more than 20 thousand behind the highest number of companies in the last six years (February 2017), while the current value is only 10 thousand more than the lowest number of companies (August 2020).
