Online shops to pay bigger fines
Ákos Kara, secretary of state responsible for infocommunication and consumer protection informed that the name of online shops that don’t comply with the regulations will be registered in an online database, from where they can only be deleted after 2 years. The database can be viewed at www.jogsertowebaruhazak.kormany.hu,
and at the moment 9 companies are featured in it. Online stores also have to pay bigger fines if they don’t comply with regulations: SMEs are only warned first, but the second time they can be fined to HUF 200,000-2,000,000 instead of the present HUF 15,000-150,000. The fine for multinationals is HUF 200,000-500,000,000.
