OMSZ: the upper layer of the soil received enough precipitation everywhere
The rainy weather of the past few weeks has brought enough precipitation to the upper layer of the soil throughout the country, the signs of drought have also disappeared in the northern part of the Tiszántúl, but the moisture also favors pathogens in denser fall crops – read the agrometeorological summary published on Thursday on the website of the National Meteorological Service (OMSZ). .
Rain was especially needed in the northern part of Tiszántúl, where signs of drought were already showing. Currently, the soil is the driest in the southern part of the Danube-Tisza valley, as well as in some parts of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár counties, according to the precipitation and soil moisture summary figures of the OMSZ. They indicated that the distribution of the rain will continue to be uneven in the coming days, and then at the end of the week, the tendency for precipitation will moderate, but then thunderstorms may still form in the southern part of the country.
The autumn crops are typically in good condition, and the temperature is also suitable
The rains hit corn and sunflower at just the right time, although there are big differences between the fields depending on the time of sowing, the type of plants and the agrotechnics. According to the OMSZ, the high heat now would not be good for the plantations, but there is still no need to prepare for that, the temperature will drop a little at the beginning of next week, and the wind, which is getting stronger in many directions, may hinder the plant protection works – they wrote.
