TEDi store chain recalls flower-patterned glass cups due to risk of lead and cadmium leaching
The TEDi store chain has recalled flower-patterned glass cups from circulation due to the risk of lead and cadmium leaching, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Friday.
According to the information, based on a report received through the European Union’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), during an official inspection, lead and cadmium leaching exceeding the limit value was measured from a flower-patterned glass cup originating from China in Poland, and the product also arrived in domestic TEDi stores via Germany.
In cooperation with the authority, TEDi Árukereskedelmi Kft. took the necessary measures within its own competence, ensuring the withdrawal of the objectionable items from circulation and the recall from consumers. The authority is monitoring the measures taken by the company and the further fate of the recalled products, the statement said.
According to the NKFH, the names of the affected products are:
S_Glass 250ml 3-piece, barcode: 19890001011000000300, S_Glass 280ml 3-piece barcode: 11438001011000000300, S_Glass 310ml 3-piece, barcode: 41677001011000000300. The sales period was from January 23, 2025 to July 2, 2025. The importer is TEDi GmbH & Co.KG (Germany).
