At the same time, the majority of food became cheaper in the Czech Republic as well
Annual inflation in the Czech Republic dropped to two percent in February from 2.3 percent in January, the Czech Statistical Office announced on Monday in Prague.
Annual inflation has been gradually decreasing since February 2023 from the then 16.7 percent.
The two percent annual inflation corresponds to the target value set by the Czech National Bank. The last time inflation was at such a low level in the Czech Republic was in December 2018. In a monthly comparison, prices were 0.3 percent higher in February.
Compared to the situation a year ago, household costs are currently higher, and you have to pay more in restaurants and commercial accommodation as well. At the same time, the majority of foodstuffs became cheaper, such as eggs, flour, sugar and poultry meat.
