Hand care creams have become cheaper
From the Nielsen Retail Index we learn that the annual market of hand and body care creams amounts to an annual HUF 7-8 billion. From this hand crams represent HUF 1 billion. Sales are increasingly concentrated to drugstores. Hand cream sales are the highest in the Budapest-Pest County region: 28 percent of the population lives hare and they realised 42 percent of total value sales (in the January-August 2010 period). Drugstores’ share from volume sales was 41 percent – 2 percentage point more than a year earlier. Private labels’ volume share was 15 percent in July-August 2009, but in the same period of 2010 it was up at 22 percent. Average prices decreased by 2 percent and were at HUF 3,628/litre. Packaging units: the 100 ml and smaller segment had a 70 percent market share.
