Expensive grapes might lead to the popularity of cheap low-quality wines on the market
One kilogram of grapes costs 70-90 HUF this year, whereas previously this number was never more than 40 HUF. This deplorable situation might lead to the spread of low-quality import wines.
In the past few years, Italian import wines played an important role in the Hungarian market, and this might be a serious threat to Hungarian winegrowers. Cheap low-quality wines might be another danger: certain import wines are mixed with domestic grape-free wines and sold in PET-bottles for 250-300 HUF.
