Cheap goose and duck liver

Eight-ten euros per kg price reduction can be experienced on the market of duck and goose liver, which is also put strongly back the duck and goose stock. The participants of the sector hope that the situation will be improved in the last quarter.

The livergoose stock compared to 2008 decreased by 20, the liverduck stock by 30 percent of this year, partly because of the decreasing demand. The processors also signed less contracts with the producers.
The sector produces 1800 tons livergeese per year and 450 tons of liverducks, reaching a turnover of 8 billion HUF. With the sales of goose the sector has a turnover of 18-20 billion HUF. Export is dominant, because 1243 tonnes of goose liver and 409 tonnes of duck liver went abroad last year, mainly to France – reports Napi Gazdaság.
