Italian elegance, Hungarian motifs: the Busatti Matyó collection has arrived
The Budapest Museum of Ethnography and the Tuscan Busatti manufactory have presented a limited, premium home textile collection: the “Matyó” selection combines the treasure trove of Hungarian folk art motifs and Busatti’s hand-woven textiles in a contemporary design environment.
The collection was inspired by a Matyó apron made in 1939, which is on display in the Heritage section of the Museum of Ethnography’s collection exhibition. The press release reminds us that Matyó folk art has been part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2012.
According to Busatti, the pieces made of 100% cotton jacquard fabric include decorative pillowcases, table runners, tea towels, placemats, aprons and textile bags. The collection is available exclusively at the Etnoshop of the Museum of Ethnography and at etnoshop.hu, and can also be viewed at MOM Park, at Le Parfum – Zólyomi Zsolt Perfumery, from March 25, 2026.
