Nearly 3 percent drop in retail sales until October
The volume of retail sales – on the basis of the calendary-adjusted data – remained essentially unchanged in October 2010, so overall the sales of the first ten months showed a decrease of 2.7 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year – reports the Central Statistical Office.
In the national retail store chains and in the mail order retailing, 666 billion worth goods were distributed in October 2010 and in the first ten months of the year 6050 billion of total sales was realized. 44 percent of retail sales was food and food related products, the share of fuel was 18 percent and 14 percent was furniture and household goods, construction materials.The share of all the other business types was 24 percent in January-October 2010.
