Retail sales fell further in October
According to Central Statistical Office; the retail sales volume were 7.5 percent below in the first ten months of 2009, compared to last comparable period.
Compared to the previous month; October retail sales declined by 0.6 percent. In the national retail stores and mail order retailing in the first ten months of 2009, 5907 billion worth of goods were distributed and 641 billion HUF was realized this October.
According to Eurostat; retail sales volume continued to decline in October 2009 all over Europe. In the EU 27 it was an average 0.9, in the euro-zone countries, the decline was 1.9 percent.
