Annual inflation in Romania was close to 10 percent in October as well
In October, consumer prices in Romania exceeded the value of a year earlier by an average of 9.76 percent, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Wednesday.
This is the third consecutive month when inflation is close to 10 percent: in September, the annual consumer price increase was 9.88 percent, and in August it was 9.85 percent.
In October, food products increased by 7.57 percent, non-food products by 10.96 percent, and services by They cost 10.52 percent more than a year earlier.
The prices of electricity (72.30 percent), fresh fruit (22.74 percent), rail transport (18.59 percent), personal care and health services (18.54 percent) and thermal energy (17.70 percent) increased the most. The prices of air transport (11.09 percent), potatoes (9.32 percent), fresh vegetables and canned vegetables (3.70 percent) decreased the most.
Prices increased by 0.50 percent compared to September. In the first ten months of the year, consumer prices increased by an average of 8.99 percent in Romania.
