Hungarian industry output falls 0.9%
Following four months of growth, Hungary's industrial output dropped in October, according to the Central Statistics Office.
The m/m decline may be attributable to waning momentum of the domestic manufacturing industry that moves in tandem with the European business sector, but it cannot be excluded that specific technical factors also played a role.
Hungary's industrial output grew 8.5% year on year in the tenth month of the year, while the working-day adjusted figure showed a 5.9% increase vs. +8.7% in September. The aggregate volume of industrial production in the first ten months of the year was 8.6% higher than a year earlier, unchanged from Q1-Q3.
