The October inflation rate was 0.9 percent
In October 2013 consumer prices were 0.9 percent higher than one year ago. In comparison with September 2013 consumer prices rose 0.3 percent on average. Groceries cost 0.1 percent more in October than September. The price of egg climbed 2.4 percent, milk became 1.6 percent more expensive and due toe the season change there was a 1.9-percent increase in the price of clothes. Compared with October 2012 the price of groceries grew above the average, by 1.1 percent. Cheese prices soared by 8.9 percent, milk’s price was up 5 percent and pork cost 4.4 percent more. Consumers had to pay 10.5 percent more for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products. Services became 3.8 percent more expensive and public transport cost 4.9 percent more. However, we had to pay 8.9 percent less for household energy.
