OKSZ: in spite of spending more, we buy less gifts due to the inflation
The National Trade Association (OKSZ) expects higher Christmas retail spending than last year, while the volume of the purchased goods may be less. The reason is this year’s high inflation.
According to the OKSZ, families will buy gifts for an average approximately 20-25 thousand HUF.
The spending will be greater, while the quantity of goods purchased is expected to be lower than last year. In December, the trade consumption may shrink by 2 percent compared to last year, due to the high inflation. (Világgazdaság Online)
