Smartphones: the double-digit growth may end
Smartphones global sales may increase at a slowing pace this year and in the coming years according to the International Data Corporation (IDC), IT and telecommunications market research institute.
Last year, 1.44 million smartphones were sold worldwide, 10.4 percent more than in 2014. The 2016 sales – according to IDC – will be 5.7 percent higher. The market research company expects sales of 1.52 billion devices. IDC predicts that the market growth will continue in the coming years, but only with a single-digit rate, and by 2020 will reach an annual volume of 1.92 billion. (MTI)
