For smart people
A growing number of Hungarians buy smartphones and the average mobile user spends about 20-30 minutes with browsing the Internet every day; 98 percent of them download different applications to their mobiles. Many users visit the websites of restaurants, so it would be necessary to have sites which can easily be browsed with mobile phones. Too much flash content or menus in PDF format all make it difficult to view restaurants’ sites. There are free solutions for these problems overseas: at MobileHunger.com restaurant owners only have to provide the categories and their elements of the menu and the company converts information into web pages that can be read by iPhones and iPods, free of charge. When the mobile users type in the restaurants’ website they are automatically redirected to this new site, which is optimised for mobile browsing. It is also a good idea to mark the location of a restaurant on Google Maps, by registering at Google Places – where all the important information about registered restaurants can also be found. For companies which take orders and offer delivery downloadable applications can generate increased turnover: if they want to order food, mobile owners simply have to open the application instead of wasting time with finding the restaurant’s website. By using the YWaiter programme, restaurants can save the bulk of the costs of developing their own ordering programmes.
