The Chamber of Agriculture starts an offensive before the collapse of the grain market
The Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture tries to draw the antention in letter of the High Commissioner for Agriculture of the EU, Gráf József, Minister of Agriculture and the largest advocacy organizations of European producers on the bad grain situation.
The letter, wrote to Fisher-Boel, EU Commissioner mentions, that although this year, 25 percent less cereal grain grown, compared to last year and average prices are 15-25 percent lower, but the free market prices show similar values.
The Chamber draws Gráf József’s attention to re-examine the possibility for the supporting of grain storage and grain purchase through state-owned enterprises, and initiate measures to the European Commission.
In the the third letter the Chamber asked the President of the big European producers' organizations COPA and COGECA, to support the application for grain exports support and of suspending preferential imports.
