Ocean Fish brand fishing products recalled due to bacteria

SPAR Hungary Trading Ltd. has initiated a consumer recall of Ocean Fish brand fishery products, as the presence of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria (the causative agent of listeriosis) was detected in the products during a self-check, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Tuesday.

The products are manufactured by the Romanian company Ocean Fish S.R.L.

SPAR, in cooperation with the NKFH, has initiated a precautionary recall of the decided to withdraw all products produced by the Romanian manufacturer from the market and to recall them from consumers.

The measures taken by the company, as well as the further fate of the recalled products (destruction or removal), are being monitored by the authority, they announced.

The eight types of products affected, in different packaging, include Norwegian smoked salmon fillet, marinated salmon, fresh salmon fillet with lemon, fresh salmon fillet with peppercorn mixture, pre-cooked shrimp, smoked, sliced ​​salmon trout fillet, and seafood cocktail. All items on the market are affected by the recall.

The affected products The data can be read on the authority’s website. They ask that anyone who has purchased products with these lot identifiers not consume them.

They also drew attention to the fact that products manufactured by the manufacturer Ocean Fish S.R.L. may also be available for purchase in other retail outlets, and these are being investigated.
