He is the new CEO of Budapest Airport
The new general manager of Budapest Airport Zrt. is Francois Berisot, who is now using his management experience gained at the VINCI Airports Group’s Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade to manage the Hungarian capital’s airport. Berisot replaces his predecessor, Kam Jandut, following a complete change of the company’s management and supervisory board following a recent buyback by the Hungarian government.
The Minister of National Economy, Márton Nagy, announced on June 6 that Budapest Airport Zrt. has returned to Hungarian majority ownership after almost two decades, as a result of a transaction that can be considered historic. According to the agreement between the government and the French co-investor, VINCI, the Hungarian state acquired an 80 percent share, while VINCI acquired a 20 percent share.
The members of the new management include several high-ranking domestic economic and financial experts, including Máté Lóga and Ferenc Antal from the Ministry of National Economy, László Parragh, president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Zoltán Guller, chairman of the board of the Hungarian Tourism Agency. The supervisory board included the CEO of Corvinus Zrt., Andrea Torzsa, Anikó Túri, the State Secretary for Public Administration of the Ministry of National Economy, and lawyer Tibor Szabó-Szombati.
The appointment of Francois Berisot is an important step in terms of the further development of Budapest Airport. The new CEO’s international experience and expertise are expected to contribute to increasing the airport’s operational efficiency, expanding commercial opportunities, and promoting infrastructure projects.
