Food vouchers for pensioners: Aldi offers an extra discount
Between September 1 and October 15, postmen will deliver food vouchers worth 30,000 forints to pensioners, announced Zsolt Nyitrai, the Prime Minister’s chief advisor. The vouchers are not personal, so anyone can redeem them until December 31, but they cannot be exchanged for cash, and they will not be refunded.
The voucher can be used to purchase cold food in a wide range of places: in stores of domestic retail chains, discount stores, bakeries, butchers, greengrocers, markets and primary producers. However, it cannot be spent on hot food, alcohol, tobacco products, chemical products or cosmetics.
Aldi supplement: extra coupon for customers
Aldi Hungary has announced that anyone who pays with a pensioner voucher for a food purchase over 8,000 forints in the chain’s stores – even partially – will receive a 1,000 forint coupon as a gift. The coupon can be used for any product, thus providing direct assistance in everyday expenses.
“Customers who redeem the voucher typically spend a larger proportion of their income on basic products, which is why price increases hit them particularly hard. With this initiative, we want to make it easier for them”
– emphasized Bernhard Haider, national managing director of Aldi Hungary Food Bt.
The coupons can be redeemed between September 1 and November 30, not only for food and cleaning products, but also for products needed for Christmas preparations.
