Dermatologist in the West, TV in the East
According to data from a survey conducted by GfK Roper, four people out of ten are satisfied with the way they look world-wide and in Hungary, as well. The survey conducted in 30 countries with 30,000 participants revealed that 41 per cent of people interviewed in Hungary would not change anything about the way they look. One out of two consumers rely on their own judgement and that of their families and friends regarding beauty care products. Advertisements have a less significant effect (29 per cent) by international comparison and only 18 per cent ask advice from their dermatologist in Hungary. While 29 per cent of consumers rely on the opinion of a dermatologist in Western Europe, and only 18 per cent are influenced by TV spots, exactly the opposite is true for Eastern Europe where only 13 percent prefer the opinion of a dermatologist to TV ads, which are used for orientation by 30 per cent. 50 per cent of the consumers interviewed generally buy beauty and health care products in drugstores or pharmacies, while 36 per cent usually buy these in one of the modern sales channels.
