SMEs expect a profitable year in 2026

The majority of domestic businesses expect stable or increasing revenue for the next twelve months. 30 percent of respondents expect an expansion of more than 6 percent, another 12 percent expect growth below 6 percent, while 43 percent predict stagnation. 14 percent of businesses predict a decline in sales, and 2 percent are unable to provide an estimate for now.

Businesses with sales of 101-300 million forints are looking to the next year with the greatest optimism: they are extremely optimistic, expecting an 8.9 percent growth. They are followed by companies with annual sales of 20-100 million forints, who expect 6.2 percent, and the most cautious are those with revenues of 301 million and 2 billion forints, with 3.8 percent.

In terms of profit trends, however, the largest companies see the year most optimistically, with a 4.3 percent profit increase, followed by the smallest companies with an expectation of 4.1 percent, and finally medium-sized companies with 3.5 percent. In terms of profit expectations, there are no significant differences according to company size.
