Wine reform comes soon
The second phase of the EU wine market reform in Hungary started in early August. The relevant EU legislation is already available in two weeks – said Csaba Horváth, Secretary-General of the National Council of Hungarian Hegyközségek (HNT).
Almost all the implementing regulations need to be redefined, which – in principle – should have been applied from the beginning of the month.
Under the new rules the origin and geographical indications should also be introduced in Hungary. All wine categories will change, new product descriptions should be made and the certificate of origin will also be renewed as well – reports Origo.
