The Lego increases its production capacity in Nyíregyháza
Danish toy manufacturer Lego is planning to invest approximately 25-50 million euros at its unit in Nyíregyháza, eastern Hungary, by building automatic high-bay warehouses and a decoration and assembly plant, plant manager Jesper Hassellund Mikkelsen and mayor Ferenc Kovács announced at a joint press conference yesterday.
The plant manager added that a recent decision will result in the installation of injection moulding equipment at a leased plant at a site formerly used by Lego, where 150 new employees will be required to launch production early next year.
Mikkelsen added that the firm is also considering doubling injection moulding and packaging capacity at the Hungarian plant by 2020, as part of its long-term development plans. “If this decision is made, headcount could increase by a further 1,300,” he said. (MTI)
