Growing visitor numbers

Tourism continues to show strong growth: in January-July 2025 10.7 million tourists spent 25.6 million guest nights in Hungary, representing a 6.4% rise from the previous year.

Domestic traffic brought in 1.3 million travellers, mainly in the Lake Balaton and Mátra-Bükk regions, while the number of foreign tourists was up nearly 6%. Budapest recorded an outstanding 12.2% growth, while Szeged, Tokaj and Nyíregyháza produced a more than 16% growth.
