Increasing sales on the cosmetics and household chemical goods market
The retail sales of household chemical goods and cosmetics increased by 3 percent between last May and the April of this year, compared to the previous similar period, with a market approaching 300 billion forints per year – reports Nielsen.
According to the survey of Nielsen market research company, the retail sales of kitchen paper wipes, toilet cleaners, detergents and toilet papers have significantly, increased by 9-11 percent. The turnover of paper handkerchiefs increased by 6 percent. The household paper market position strengthened mainly because of the result of a wider choice. The market share of hypermarkets in the cosmetics and household chemical goods turnover in the past two years is stable with a 39 percent market share. The market share of perfumery increased from 25 to 26 percent. Discounts and supermarkets are playing an increasing role on the market of chemical and cosmetics goods. In the first five months of the year, five new hypermarkets, three supermarkets and twenty discounts have been opened.
