Consumer prices rose in China
In China, consumer prices increased by 0.3 percent annually, more than the 0.1 percent expected by analysts, marking the third consecutive month of increases.
According to data released by the Chinese Bureau of Statistics at the weekend, non-food products rose in price by 0.9 percent. Food prices fell by 2.7 percent, making it the 11th month of decline.
Consumer prices calculated without food and energy rose by 0.7 percent in April on an annual basis after 0.6 percent in March.
Compared to March, consumer prices rose by 0.1 percent after a 1 percent decrease in the previous month.
