Pork consumption increased in Hungary
Pork consumption has increased by about 10 percent since 2016 in Hungary, with an annual consumption of 25 kilograms per person – the Minister of Agriculture said in Túrkeve, at the press conference of the 12th International Sticker Meeting.
Fazekas Sándor said that the 27% to 5% reduction in the VAT rate of pigs had a very favorable effect on the pig industry.
The minister emphasized that the VAT reduction noticeably “whitened” the industry, the competitiveness of decent businesses increased, the consumption of pork increased and the reduction in the price of pork resulted in savings for the consumers. (MTI)
