Retail sales increased in the Eurozone in June
The retail sales in the Eurozone increased more than expected in June on an annual basis – the European Union's statistical office the Eurostat announced on Tuesday.
Compared to the previous month, the retail sales increased by the expected rate; by 0.4 percent. Compared with a year earlier retail sales rose by 2.4 percent in June, instead of the expected 1.2 percent in the 18-member Eurozone.
The annual growth in June is the highest since March 2007.
According to the revised datas, retail sales increased by 0.3 percent in May, instead of the previous 0.0 percent. (MTI)
