Glass Recycling Increased During Lockdown Period, Study Finds
More than a third of households (34%) in Germany, Poland and the UK recycled more glass packaging during the coronavirus lockdown period, new research has shown.
The research, carried out by Ardagh Group, surveyed 2,100 households about their recycling habits during lockdown, a period which saw glass packaging consumed more frequently due to the prolonged closure of bars and restaurants.
Some 40% of respondents in the UK and Poland, as well as 21% of those in Germany, said that they were recycling more glass, which represents a ‘marked change’ in glass consumption, according to Ardagh.
