According to a survey, the number of people planning a trip increased this year
According to a representative survey commissioned by ALDI’s online travel platform, the number of people planning a trip increased this year; about 60 percent of travelers go domestically, almost 30 percent go abroad, and 10 percent have not yet decided; an average of HUF 338,000 per household is allocated for this purpose – the company told MTI on Monday.
The announcement highlights: according to the research and the experience of ALDI Travel, most people travel by car to the surrounding countries, typically for 4-7 days, looking for cheap accommodation, but the demand for exclusive boat trips is also increasing.
While in the summer of 2022, 52 percent of people of economically active age planned some kind of domestic rest or vacation, this year it is already 57 percent. And the proportion of those planning a vacation abroad increased from 23 percent in 2022 to 29 percent, they wrote. The most popular destination is still Croatia, followed by Austria and then Italy.
The length of the domestic holidays is a few days for about two-thirds of the respondents. 31 percent of them plan a domestic holiday of one week or longer. The ratio is similar for those planning trips abroad. 48 percent of those traveling outside the country typically spend a week abroad. The number of people planning a one-week vacation abroad increased the most: from 10 percent to 15 percent, highlights Aldi Utazás.
