Inflation rose in the euro area in July
According to Eurostat’s final figures, published on Wednesday inflation in the euro area rose to 2.2 percent in July from 1.9 percent in June.
Last year, the annual rise in consumer prices in the euro area was 0.4 percent in July, followed by deflation from August to December, with an annual decline in the price index of 0.2-0.3 percent per month. The most recent annual price increase was in October 2018 in the euro area, at 2.2 percent. (MTI)
