Both value and volume sales improved
Body lotions bettered their market position: retail sales were up 9 percent in value and 5 percent in volume in January-June 2011. The category is 12th in the Nielsen ranking of 60 household chemical and cosmetics products. Annual sales exceeded HUF 7 billion and manufacturer brands were muscular as their market share was a robust 92 percent in terms of value, just like a year ago. 28 percent of Hungary’s population lives in Budapest and Pest County but from total body lotion sales they were responsible for 37 percent.
