U.S. consumer confidence increased
Consumer confidence has increased significantly in the U.S. in July. The value of the consumer confidence index of the Conference Board rose from 62.7 points to 65.9 points, contrary to the expectations of 61 points. The 65.9 points value is a three-month peak.
According to the July survey of Conference Board, the U.S. consumers are getting more optimistic again, (the consumer confidence index rose from 62.7 points to 65.9 points), which according to Lynn Franco, Director of the Institute, is due to the the more favorable perceptions of the short-term business and employment prospects.
