Demand for the quality wines of the Varga Winery increased last year
The Varga Winery sold more than ten percent more wine last year than a year before. Within that, premium wine sales rose to fifty percent, with around 800,000 bottles sold – the owner of the winery informed MTI on Friday.
Varga Péter said that last year sales increased by 1.5 million liters compared to 12.2 million liters in 2018, which resulted in an increase in sales from 5 billion HUF to 5.8 billion HUF, and profits increased from 150 million HUF to 200 million HUF. The number of employees increased slightly, with an average of 191 employees during the year. On the other hand, the processing of grapes has decreased, compared to the 20.5 million kilograms of the previous year, in 2019 only 17.5 million kilograms of wine was made from grapes. (MTI)
