The value of Szép card uploads and spendings has increased significantly in the first half of this year, according to data from card issuers.

The OTP Fund Service Provider informed MTI that in the first half of this year, employers transferred 165 billion HUF to their employees’ SZÉP card accounts, 30 percent more than in the same period of last year. In addition to the widespread use of the SZÉP card, the favorable legal environment also plays an important role in the growth of top-ups, as until 31 December only 15 percent of personal income tax is paid on SZÉP card benefits, and the amount available for pocket-friendly taxation is about double the previous period.
