The number of foreign tourists increased in Romania but their average spendings decreased
In the first ten months of the year, the number of foreign tourists in Romania increased by 10 percent, but the average per capita spending decreased, compared to the same period of last year – the Romanian national statistical institute announced on Thursday.
Between January and October this year, 1.929 million foreign tourists visited the Romanian commercial accomodiations, compared with the 1.753 million foreign tourists of a year before.
The visitors spent 5.6 percent more a total of 4.613 billion leis (322.9 billion HUF). A foreign tourists spent an average of 2391 leis (167 300 HUF), compared to last year’s 2489 leis (174 200 HUF), which is a decrease of 4 percent. (MTI)
