Retail sales grew in Germany in December
In December, German retail sales rose, compared to the previous year, while last year’s data was the highest annual growth of the past more than twenty years – the German federal statistics office, the Destatis announced on Friday.
According to preliminary data, German retail sales increased in December last year by 1.7 percent in nominal terms and 1.5 percent in real terms, compared to a year before. Compared to previous month retail sales declined by 0.2 percent in real terms, undershooting economists’ forecasts of 0.4 a percent growth. (MTI)
