Retail sales increased in the EU and in the Euro Zone in February
Retail sales increased in the Euro Zone by 0.4 percent and in the European Union as a whole by 0.5 percent in February, compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, retail sales increased in the Euro Zone by 0.8 percent, while in the EU as a whole by 1.5 percent – the statistical office of the EU, the Eurostat announced on Thursday. The datas are not definitive.
Retail sales increased in 13 of the 22 Member States, whil decreased occred in 9 member states in a monthly comparison. The highest growth rate compared to January, was measured in Malta (1.9 percent), while the largest decrease was measured in Estonia (3.4 percent). (MTI)
