Retail sales increased in the EU
Retail sales increased by 0.7 percent in the euro zone and grew by 0.4 percent in the European Union in August, compared with the previous month – the Eurostat announced on Thursday in its first estimate.
In July, in the euro zone and in the EU 28 both 0.5 percent calendar effect adjusted growth was measured on a monthly comparison.
Compared to August 2012, retail sales increased by 0.3 percent in the EU as a whole and declined by 0.3 percent in the euro zone.
Among the Member States that provided datas, retail sales increased in 14 and decreased in 6 Member States, in one country no change occurred on a monthly basis.
The Hungarian data of August not yet included in the statistics of Eurostat. (MTI)
