KSH: increase in the number of employees
The number of employed people aged 15-74 was 3 million 832 thousand in May-July 2011, 43 thousand (1.1 percent) more than in the same period of the last year – reports the Central statistical Office (KSH). The number of unemployed is essentially the same as in the previous year, 463 thousand, which resulted in a 10.8 percent unemployment rate.
The employment rate of the 15-64 year olds was 56.1 percent. It is 0.6 percentage points higher than the same period of the previous year. Among the 15-64 year old male population 2 million 53 thousand persons were employed, which corresponded to a 61.6 percent employment rate. This data at women is 1 million 747 thousand, meaning a 50.7 percent employment rate.
