The sowing area of melon has increased
The planting and sowing of melon has completed. In 2013, the producers can produce melon on a ten percent larger area than in the last year – Simonka György (Fidesz), Ministerial Commissioner responsible for the promotion of the Hungarian fruit and vegetable products told MTI on Tuesday.
The amount of arable land planted with fruit is more than five thousand hectares in Hungary, that is has not seen in years – stressed the Ministerial Commissioner. He highlighted that in Hungary's largest watermelon producing region in Békés county, the planting and sowing area of melon has increased by about ten percent in 2013. (MTI)
