Women’s Day at Rossmann: female leaders, coupon and prize draw
Out of Rossmann Hungary’s 11-member management team, four are women who, this International Women’s Day, share insights into their leadership styles and career paths. In addition to these inspiring stories, the drugstore chain is celebrating March 8 with a giveaway and a special Women’s Day coupon.

Rossmann employs nearly 2,200 people in Hungary, with women making up around 90% of the workforce. The company’s 11-member management team includes four female executives who now share what leadership means to them and the journey that led them there. Their honest and personal reflections provide a glimpse into their daily lives and reveal the key experiences that have shaped them.
In 2024, Rossmann won the Kincentric Best Workplace Award for the second time, with an employee engagement rate of 82%. Gestures such as celebrating Women’s Day with small tokens of appreciation—like a box of chocolates—also contribute to this strong engagement.

Varga Anita Ágnes
Regarding what motivated her to take on a leadership role and the journey leading up to it, Varga Anita Ágnes, Head of Marketing, said:
“Honestly, I never wanted to be a leader. The main motivation was that to reach professional fulfillment and to experiment, you need to climb higher on the career ladder. At Rossmann, I was given the chance to prove myself, and it turned out I could handle leadership. If you will, I’m an organically grown leader. I think that’s the right way to describe me, as I’ve grown together with the company.”

Szurma Gyöngyi
“I was fortunate enough to be placed in a leadership position right after university at an international DIY retail chain, where I was entrusted with leading a team of 30 as a store manager. From then on, I have continuously held leadership positions.”
– added Szurma Gyöngyi, CEO and Head of Sales.

Kiss Judit
Kiss Judit, Head of HR, shared that she never had a firm goal to become a leader, but she always enjoyed being around people and the fast-paced environment, which led her into the retail industry.
“My first job was in sales, where I was given my first opportunity in HR as a trainer. For a long time, I worked as a ‘one-man show,’ meaning I had no team or local leader. At 28, after a personnel change, I was asked to temporarily lead a small HR team alongside my existing responsibilities. It was an exciting time, I learned a lot, and in the end, I let go of my original role and stayed in leadership, staying in HR.”

Szimeiszter Éva
Szimeiszter Éva joined Rossmann in early 2025 as Head of Procurement. She describes her leadership style as democratic, inspirational, and decisive.
“I like to involve the people around me in thinking and decision-making. I enjoy inspiring my team. It’s very important to me that everyone thoroughly understands how their work contributes to the overall strategy, which can also serve as a source of motivation. In certain situations, quick decisions need to be made, and in such cases, I have no trouble defining the direction, pace, and deadlines. At the same time, I am a very positive and energetic person—humor is essential for me. Equally important values in both leadership and my personal life are commitment, loyalty, friendship, human relationships, perseverance, trust, intelligence, and helpfulness.”
Mysterious Women – Women’s Day Puzzle Series
To celebrate Women’s Day, Rossmann is launching a four-part puzzle series throughout March to honor and celebrate women. Three winners will be drawn per puzzle, and each will receive a gift package. The puzzle series aims to celebrate women and highlight those who have made lasting contributions to society. The puzzles are available to Rossmann newsletter subscribers and in The Hero of Promotions Facebook Group.
