Women in the world of work earn less, are less mobile, less comfortable
The gender pay gap has long been a topic. But what about the difference between the European level and Hungary? How women are paid, what motivates them, how mobile are they? The EMPX Solutions consulting firm was looking for answers to these questions in its research.
According to Eurostat’s latest data for 2017, there are still significant differences between the salaries of men and women. The phenomenon is not unique. The salary for women in the European Union is an average 16 percent lower than men. The smallest difference (less than 10 percent) was found in Luxembourg, Belgium, Slovenia and Poland, while the largest wage gap can be found in Estonia, the Czech Republic, Great Britain and Austria (higher than 20 percent). Hungary is close to the average with 14 percent.
