Márton Nobilis: big changes are coming in the food industry
In the Hungarian food industry, tender resources must be used in such a way that they ensure the competitiveness of the sector in the long term and promote the growth of enterprises and improve their efficiency – emphasized Márton Nobilis, the State Secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, in an interview with the Agricultural Sector.
The state secretary highlighted that the amount of funds available for the food industry sector in the period from 2021 to 2027 will rise to about HUF 750 billion, which represents a significant increase compared to the previous HUF 468 billion. This increase can be attributed not only to inflationary effects, but also to the expansion of subsidies in nominal and real terms.
According to Márton Nobilis, the support process through the Ministry of Agriculture enables the creation of equal conditions of competition in the food industry, which is crucial for the healthy development of the sector. The state secretary pointed out that the subsidies are equally available to all businesses, without favoritism.
Within the framework of the KAP Strategic Plan, about HUF 1,500 billion will be used for economic development purposes, within which the development of livestock farms and horticulture farms will receive special attention. The government provides an 80% contribution to the subsidies. In addition, a 10% interest subsidy program is being developed, the aim of which is to ease the financial burden of the applicant companies.
